Dumb Luck

Once there was a penny,

Face down on a dusty floor,

Who knows how long he’d been there,

A day, or two, or many more.

He laid in wait to be picked up,

Longed to be shoved in cozy pocket,

Completely unaware he brings bad luck,

That clueless copper doomsday prophet.
