Late Bloom
I am desperate
Like a late-spring dogwood bloom
Browning drooping and dying
I’ll sell you a too sweet scent, sickening
Somebody prune and pick me please
Place me in your pretty little kitchen vase
I have a few gulps of life left in me yet
I promise I will perk right up
These last remaining petals
Delicate but holding tight
Desire one more day

Oh to perk you up …
Would require more work than you realize. I am a tough bloom. 😊 Metaphorically and emotionally speaking of course.
Smiles. I am sure you are physically tender. And beneath that sometimes cool exterior, a sweet and clever creature.
Physically, too tender….emotionally, too cool. Not a good combination…trust me. 😈
Trust me
I loved this! You are seriously good.
Thank you so much for the kind words, and thank you very much for reading.
